“It’s nice to have my own sense of self. I feel more whole.”
Quinn experienced family conflict which led to them being locked out of home, sleeping on friend’s sofas and even on the street.
Since arriving at YMCA, Quinn has grown into a confident, compassionate young person with a strong sense of purpose. With the support of YMCA staff and access to mental health services, Quinn found stability, understanding, and a place to heal.
They’re now studying psychology and hope to become a forensic psychologist – goals they never imagined possible before.
Quinn has also flourished as a YMCA Youth Ambassador, helping shape services, reviewing policies, and setting up a Youth Board to amplify young voices.
“Having someone speak to me like a real person – not just a number on a page – made all the difference,” they share.
We’re so proud of how far Quinn has come, finding their own direction, and now using their voice to empower other young people. We know you’ll be proud of them too.
So happy that you now feel settled and confident. Good luck with all your future plans – they sound great! You are going to make the world a better place. With love, Helen
I wish you all the very best for the future Quinn. All good wishes for your future career – I hope all goes well.
Dear Quinn,
Just wanted to thank you for sharing something of your story. So glad YMCA was able to help you and make a real difference as you navigated through recent months. I hope and pray this can continue as you establish your adult life and find your way in the future.
Every blessing
Malcolm
